Every trade, engineered into the design

An OPL only performs when the services behind it are right. Each design produced in the tool carries the loads, positions and clearances your electricians, plumbers, gasfitters and ducting contractors need to quote and rough in with confidence.

Electrical

Every washer, dryer and ironer in the equipment matrix carries its full electrical load. The designer aggregates connected load per zone so switchboard capacity is confirmed before a machine is ordered.

  • Per-machine voltage, phase and amperage from the equipment matrix
  • Connected and demand load totals per room and per zone
  • Isolator and outlet positions placed on the plan with clearances
  • RCD / safety switch and emergency stop provisions for wet areas
  • Lighting layout to laundry work-surface lux requirements

Plumbing

Hot and cold water supplies are sized against machine inlet flow rates and simultaneous-fill demand. Drainage is planned around pump-out and gravity-drain machines with tundish and floor-waste positions shown on plan.

  • Hot, cold and tempered water supply sizing (DN per machine)
  • Peak simultaneous-fill demand across selected equipment
  • Drain points, tundishes and floor wastes with fall direction
  • Backflow prevention and thermostatic mixing valve locations
  • Water filtration and softening options for linen-quality outcomes

Gas

Gas-fired dryers and ironers are matched to meter capacity and regulator sizing. Runs are planned with isolation valves at each appliance and ventilation interlocks where required.

  • Total gas load (MJ/h) aggregated from selected dryers and ironers
  • Meter and regulator capacity check against connected load
  • Pipe run routing with appliance isolation valves marked
  • Natural gas and LPG configurations per site supply
  • Compliance notes to AS/NZS 5601 gas installation standards

Ducting & Ventilation

Dryer exhaust ducting is sized to each machine's outlet diameter and maximum run length, with make-up air calculated so rooms never go negative. Air curtains separate clean and dirty zones.

  • Duct diameter and equivalent run length per dryer
  • Individual vs manifolded duct runs with lint-access points
  • Make-up air sizing to balance exhaust volumes
  • Air curtain placement at clean/dirty zone separation
  • Roof or wall termination positions with weather cowls

Steam & Compressed Air

For ironers and finishing equipment, steam and pneumatic services are planned alongside electrical and gas so nothing is retrofitted after slab or rough-in.

  • Steam supply and condensate return for ironer lines
  • Compressed air drops for folders and pneumatic valves
  • Receiver and dryer placement within the plant zone
  • Pressure ratings matched to equipment requirements

Structural & Fit-off

Machine weights and dynamic loads are checked against slab capacity. Stainless fixtures — shelving, benching, basins, hanging racks and tub stations — are placed with anchoring and hygiene clearances.
